RE: DIRECTORY SOCIAL ACTION APOSTOLATE ARCHDIOCESE OF LINGAYEN-DAGUPAN
The LOVE and PEACE of CHRIST — The WAY to the LIFE in the Kingdom through the TRUTH. The herewith attached DIRECTORY renders the Social Action Apostolate in the Archdiocese as henceforth formalized and institutionalized as below dated. In addition to our many and continuous sacramental and other cultic ministries — which we have done for centuries — the SIGN OF THE TIMES mandates that we also engage ourselves and our lay leaders in the promotion of the SOCIAL DOCTRINE OF THE CHURCH. The truth i that we feel comfortable and fulfilled in leading the laity in purely devotional practices and pious acts — which constitutes a verticalist faith (”Love God”). It is about time we ALSO devote ourselves in the pursuit of justice and truth — which is admittedly inconvenient but which places the horizontalist dimension of the Christian faith (”Love neighbor”).
